World Not Saving or Rollbacks

If progress disappears after restarts, the server is not saving cleanly. Fix storage and shutdown issues before players lose more work.

Immediate checks

• Confirm free disk space on the volume hosting the save.
• Verify the server account has write permissions to the save folder.
• Use saveworld before restarting to force a save.

Common causes

Cause	Fix
Forced shutdowns	Use a graceful stop and wait for save completion.
Disk full or slow I/O	Free space and move saves to SSD storage.
Antivirus locking files	Exclude the 7 Days to Die server folder.
