Farm Life 7D2D Mod (Updated May 2026)

Farm Life Overview

Farm Life is a 7 Days To Die overhaul mod focused on transforming the survival farming experience into a deep, sustainable agricultural simulation. Created by Sirillion and his team, it's the canonical farming-focused overhaul for 7DTD — if your group's vision is "we just want to farm and build, not fight zombies all day," this is the mod to install.

The mod adds dozens of new crops, multiple livestock types (chickens, cows, pigs, goats, horses), agricultural vehicles (tractors, plows, harvesters), expanded food preservation (canning, salting, smoking), and a refined cooking system. Combat is still present but de-emphasized — the daily rhythm centers on tending crops and animals rather than looting POIs.

Installation & compatibility

Farm Life requires:

  • Compatible 7DTD version (mod author lags vanilla by 2–6 weeks)
  • Both server and all clients must run the matching mod version
  • RAM: 10–14 GB recommended for 8–16 player play. Plan M is the floor.

For self-hosting, drop the mod folder into ~/sdtd/Mods/ on Linux or %APPDATA%\7DaysToDie\Mods\ on Windows. On managed hosting like Plan M, install is one-click in the panel.

Early-game farming priority

  1. Days 1–3: Standard 7DTD survival. Find a stable shelter, locate a water source, get basic tools.
  2. Days 4–7: Plant your first 4–6 crops (wheat + 2 vegetables). Build a coop (5 chickens) for a daily egg supply.
  3. Days 7–14: Expand to 12+ crop plots. Add a cow for milk + leather. Build a canning station.
  4. Days 14–21: Add pigs (meat economy), build smokehouse, expand to 20+ crop plots.
  5. Days 21+: Fully self-sufficient food. Sell surplus to traders. Build the tractor for plowing efficiency.
