Double NAT Detected
Tags: networking, nat, hosting, troubleshooting
Double NAT happens when two routers handle NAT. This blocks inbound traffic even when port forwarding looks correct.
How to confirm
- Your modem and router both show private IPs (192.168.x.x).
- Port forwarding works on one router but not the other.
Fix options
- Bridge the modem and use a single router for NAT.
- Forward the ports on both devices if bridge mode is not possible.
- Ask your ISP to switch the modem into bridge mode.
