Port Forwarding and Firewall Checklist
Tags: ports, firewall, networking, server
Port forwarding is required for self-hosted servers to be visible and reachable. Use this checklist to validate your network setup.
Default port ranges
| Ports | Protocol | Use |
| 26900-26903 | UDP/TCP | Game traffic and queries |
| 26904-26905 | UDP/TCP | EOS crossplay registration |
Router checklist
- Assign a static local IP to the server host.
- Forward the full port ranges to that IP.
- Avoid double NAT by placing the server behind a single router.
CGNAT or DS-Lite
- Carrier-grade NAT blocks inbound ports completely.
- Request a public IP from your ISP or use hosted servers.
Firewall rules
- Allow inbound traffic on the 26900-26905 range.
- Whitelist
7DaysToDieServer.exe or your Linux service.
Validate from outside
- Test direct connect from a mobile hotspot or another network.
- Confirm the server appears in the browser after port changes.
