ISP Blocking UDP Ports
Tags: networking, isp, ports, troubleshooting
Some ISPs block inbound UDP ports on residential plans. If port forwarding is correct but the server is still unreachable, the ISP may be blocking traffic.
How to confirm
- Test the server from a different network.
- Try a different port range and retest connectivity.
- Ask the ISP if inbound UDP is blocked on your plan.
Workarounds
- Request an unblocked or business plan from the ISP.
- Use a hosted server or VPS with open ports.
- Move to a different ISP if blocking cannot be removed.
